Due to the age and hillside location of Riber Hall, this is not an easy site for people of any disability. The car park is sloping with loose chippings and drainage gullies. Access from the car park to the Hall lounge involves twelve steps. Movement inside the Hall, ie a number of steps between rooms is as follows: | Steps | Room | Steps | Room |
|---|
| 8 | From car park to reception | 4 | Reception to lounge | | 9 | Lounge to dining room | 1 | Lounge to garden | | 18 | Lounge to ladies | 9 | Dining room to ladies | 1 x 9 1 x 4 1 x 2 | Dining room to gents | 1 x 4 1 x 2 | Lounge to gents | 1 x 4 1 x 8 1 x 1 | Lounge to accomodation (Room 11) |
Widening of doors for disability access, ie toilets/bedroom/bathrooms, etc is prohibited by historic house regulations due to the structure and age of this old manor house. In spite of these difficulties we will always do our utmost to oblige, in particular with guests visiting our dining room, as access can be offered through the front entrance gates, which are otherwise permanently secured.
